Caring for your jewelry
A diamond is the hardest natural material known, but the metal and the setting around it need a little attention.
- Every day. Put jewelry on after lotion, perfume and hairspray, and take it off for the gym, gardening, cleaning and swimming — chlorine and household chemicals are hard on gold.
- At home. Soak for a few minutes in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, brush gently behind the stone with a soft toothbrush, rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. No toothpaste, bleach or abrasive powders.
- Storage. Keep each piece separately in its box or a soft pouch — diamonds scratch other diamonds and gold.
- Check the prongs. If a stone moves, or a prong catches on fabric, stop wearing the piece and send it to us.
- Free for life. Cleaning, polishing and a prong and setting inspection are complimentary for as long as you own the piece. Most service is done within seven to fourteen business days.
- Resizing. Your first resizing is free.
- Insurance. The warranty covers workmanship, not loss or theft — we recommend insuring the piece separately.
